Living Fearless.

We can all agree that being fearful is always inside of us. Like there is always that one, tiny thing that could scare us for the rest of our lives and it is like it is part of our human nature. Growing up, being afraid is something that I always dealt with, whether it was mentally or physically. Then one morning during my quiet time I came across a verse in Pslam and it read”

“The Lord is my light and my Salvation, so whom shall I fear.”

Y’all this verse was a wake-up call because it speaks so much truth. Why be afraid when you have the Lord Almighty right next to your shoulder wherever you go. He is YOUR protector and YOUR Father who will never abandon you no matter what you face. He never has so why would He now? When hard times come, know that He is there to guide your way through it. I try to live fearless and to walk with the confidence of God’s unconditional love, and I pray that you will too. So try to be fierce and fearless today – whether you are at school, work, or at home – because you ARE fierce and you ARE fearless.

4 Reasons To See Niall Horan Live.

On November 13th 2017 Niall Horan played his show, Flicker Sessions, that the Ryman Auditorium. We all know and love Niall from his past performances with the band One Direction, but this was the first time (at least for me) that we saw Niall perform as ‘Niall Horan’ and not ‘Niall from One Direction.’ Throughout the entire concert I could not help but smile because I was happy. I was happy that Niall finally made his dreams come true, and produced one heck of a first album. I’m happy because his show was not over the top, but was just enough to sweep everyone off of their feet. It was THAT good that I came up with four reasons why everybody should see him live at least once in their lifetime.

  1. His Compassion

It is no doubt how much love Niall has for music, and it is expected that most music artists should have the same amount of love, but it was something about Niall and how he easily proclaimed his compassion through his songs and performance. I mean y’all he had the whole room go silent during the song ‘Flicker’ so we can all listen to the lyrics through his perspective— if that doesn’t show compassion towards his music then I don’t even know what is.

2. His stage presence

Along with his passion for his songs, his entire stage presence during the show is what made it amazing as well. He never made it over the top, or just plain boring, but he had just enough where it was like a raw stripped version of his songs but with his band. His goofy self was never hidden as he talked in a country accent, said the word ‘y’all’ here and there, played along with band mates, and of course his signature laugh that makes us all smile from head to toe. It was calm, cool, and collected that you felt like you were at home having a jam session with your friends.

3. His music

Good music is what makes a great concert to begin with right? Well the set list of course is what makes it perfect, and Niall’s set list was definitely on point. While he opened up with an up beat tempo song, he slowly made his way through the slow songs where he took his time and made sure that we felt the magic of the lyrics like he does every night. He wanted us to experience his songs the same way he does every time he performs them, and I mean it is bad enough the record alone can make each song special, but seeing and hearing them live is a whole new ball game that makes the songs ten-times better.

4.  Just Niall himself

Of course the last reason has to be because it is Niall James Horan. The Irish boy that we all know and love. The man who is worth spending 2-3hrs of your time listening to live. The person who melts our hearts whenever he walks in the room and gives off his signature grin. Need I say more?

I promise y’all that if you are given the opportunity to see Niall Horan live in concert please go! The concert is worth your money, and he is THAT good that he is worth seeing again. Trust me, I’m planning on seeing him again in July for his Flicker World Tour, and if others are planning on seeing him again too then you know his concerts are good. I promise it will be worth your while. And for those who are not able to see him live, check out his first album ‘Flicker’ and listen to it with your eyes closed… it will feel like he is there right in front of you.

9 Netflix shows you NEED to watch.

Throughout my Netflix journey, I’ve encountered TONS of movies and tv series. Some I get hooked so easily that I re-watch on loop. But then there are times where I get stuck because I have no idea what to watch next. If you are like that and are in need of some good TV series to start binging, below are my top 10 Netflix shows you need to watch. Who knows, maybe you’ll get hooked like I have. ⇓⇓

  1. Gossip Girl

Of course, this should be a no-brainier for those who just absolutely love the show. But if you were like me, then at first you get kind of hesitant. When I first started watching this series I got slightly confused but eventually, brain clicked two and two together, and now I love it. Although it is a teen drama, the mystery behind it as a whole is very intriguing and worth checking out.

  1. Jane the Virgin

Okay now, this show is one of those where the second you watch, the second you get hooked. This hilarious comedy is something I never expected watching, but the more I watched, the more I wanted more to solve the problems presented in the episodes.

2. Gilmore Girls

Best. Show. Ever. okay so I may have exaggerated a little bit but seriously if you have not seen this show yet, then what are you waiting for? Episodes on your local channel will erratically play but you have to watch it from the very beginning. Then when you are done, watch the revival right after. I promise you your life will change after watching it and you will instantly fall in love.

3. Riverdale

This other CW show is something that just got released on Netflix and will have a season two premiere on October 11th. If you are anything interested in the Archie Andrews comics then this show might be for you. It is based on the comics and implies a twist, making it a teen mystery show. Also if you have any interested in KJ Apa or Cole Sprouse then their characters will satisfy your soul real fast. If you are not sure what I am talking about, then you just have to watch the show to find out.

4.Girl boss

Based on the creator of the clothing line Nasty Gal, this show with Britt Robertson is brilliant. It is brilliant in a way that that the audience can relate on some level. It is truly inspiring, and hilarious all at once. If you think I am absolutely nuts after reading my explanation, then you just need to watch it understand.

5. Pretty Little Liars

I feel every person, mostly women have probably seen this show at least once. If you are like me, then you have watched it since the very beginning on ABC Family. This mystery drama is set around five best friends, but when one goes missing and it claimed “dead” the four remaining best friends are being targeted by an unknown person named “A.” Out of seven seasons, it is definitely one of those good teen mystery shows to watch… especially with a group of your friends.

6. Criminal Minds

Everyone needs to watch a good crime show here and there right? You know, the ones that make you feel like the detective and that you could pretty much solve any crime? Criminal Minds is that show for me. It is just something about it that intrigues the detective side of me, and I know it will do the same for you. (Plus there is an episode in season three with Frankie Muniz that will make you go crazy haha.. or at least it did with me.)

7. New Girl

The theme song is playing in your head right now, isn’t it? Honestly, does New Girl really need a long explanation? This genius comedy is something that all audience members can relate, like y’all I haven’t laughed so hard in my life because the scenario in certain episodes are scenes that I could relate to. Hands down the greatest show to ever exist and you. need. to. watch. it. now.

8. Friends

Let’s throw it back to good classic sitcom, shall we? If you have not seen this show yet then I am sure your parents have, if you are a millennial like me. This show is just THAT good and THAT iconic that it is worth your time to watch at least one episode. I promise you that after one episode, that you will not leave your couch until after every single season is watched.

9. 13 Reasons Why

Oh my word. oh my word. OH, MY WORD. Guys this Netflix original is just whoa… Based off of the book of the same name, this story line gives you chills in places where you never thought you could get chills. If you are like me and want to read the book before you watch the show, I highly recommend you do so. The TV show does follow the story line and everything but does change a few things than what was written in the book itself. So what are you waiting for? Go binging season one now before season two premieres because I honestly believe something big is going to happen.

Las Vegas Tragedy.

Waking up this morning wasn’t the greatest of them all. I mean of course it is a Monday, and not many enjoy these kinds of days, but this reason is different. Last night was a country music festival in Las Vegas, and unfortunately a mass shooting occurred.  With at least 50 dead and over 400 injured, this was one of the “deadliest mass shootings in modern American history.” It is hard to wrap our minds around this, and why somebody would even consider shooting up a huge event like this. So today I encourage you to stop whatever you are doing and pray for those effected. Pray for all the injured and that their wounds, physically and mentally, are to be healed. Pray for the loved ones of the fifty people dead, that their grieving hearts won’t bury them to the point where they cannot handle it anymore. And of course, pray for those who are mentally effected by this event. Yes they may not be dead or injured, but witnessing something like that is super scary and could possibly traumatize them. And as you pray, stop and thank God because He has protected you through all of the hard times, and most importantly He has and will protect you from whatever danger comes your way.  God bless y’all and have a good day!!

8 Netflix movies you NEED to watch.

Throughout my Netflix journey, I’ve encountered TONS of movies and tv series. Some I get hooked so easily that I re-watch on loop. But then there are times where I get stuck because I have no idea what to watch next. If you are like that and are in need of some good movies, below are my top 8 Netflix movies you need to watch. Who knows, maybe you’ll get hooked like I have. ⇓⇓⇓

  1. 1 Mile To You

Don’t get me wrong guys, I was a little skeptical about this movie because I was WAY confused of the plot line throughout the film, but that was until I watched it. This film literally gave me so many chills that I cried and watched it again on a loop. If you are looking for good romance/teen/drama movie, this one is for you.

2. You Get Me

Okay lets get real here: I was shook when I watched this. This film created by Awesomeness TV is a genius teen triller that will have you on your feet the whole time. I literally love thriller films and this one for sure satisfied my thriller movie cravings. Definitely worth the watch at your next sleepovers with your friends.

3. Kiss and Cry

Okay. Okay. OKAY // words cannot even explain how much I adore this movie. I will warn you that you will burst into tears, but the storyline is much needed to watch. For a teen drama (that’s based on a true story), you will be falling in love with characters, like I did. Also add this with the combination of the first movies, and your movie night with some girlfriends will be complete.

4. Be Somebody

This what I like to call the “cool down” movie that will give you a smile on your face. It is pretty much a Netflix version of Disney’s “Starstruck”, but just AS good. So if you are craving a light hearted teen genre movie, then this one will fit your needs for sure.

5. Waffle Street

Out of all the movies that is listed, this is an oddball, but just as good. With the amazing James Lafferty (aka Nathan Scott from OTH) as the lead star, this inspiration, comedic film will brighten up your day & mood. 10/10 recommend for sure.

6. The Last Five Years

So knowing me a musical has to be added to the mix right? This well known musical seriously got brought back to life with the help of Anna Kendrick & Jeremy Jordan. The love story on its own is the best thing ever, but to turn it into a film with two of the greatest people in the acting busniess ⇒ well that is something for you to see for yourself.

7. The Great Gatsby

Nothing like a good old classic to satisify ones soul right? At least for me it does & boy does this movie satisfy. Do not get me wrong, the remake movie with Leo Decaprio was good, but not AS good as this original film because it stays true with the story. So if you are picky on how movies stay true to books they are based upon on, this will do you justice.

8. A Cinderella Story

AHH!! Internally fangirling like I am? This classic throwback is finally released on Netflix and you have to go watch it as soon as you can. We can pretty much agree that out of all of the Cinderella Story movies, the first one is the best by far. Plus, you seriously can’t get enough of Chad Michael Murray as Austin Ames amiright?

His eye on the sparrow.

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord,”I will rescue him;I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life, I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”  // Psalm 91:14-16

If we look at our tangible circumstances -> our struggles, our uncertainties, all the ways we feel we’re failing at all the things -> happiness hardly seems to fit, but if we look to Jesus -> to the promises if His Word and the Glory if His cross -> a holy joy begins to hum underneath the sound of earthly sorrow. He is the best friend that’s got your back and will literally die for you. Literally He died on a cross just for you because he LOVES you!. And by showing that same love to Him, He will watch your back 24/7. Now that is such a great feeling to have and a reminder to know.

It’s okay to wait.

As young adults the one thing we desire to seek are relationships. Especially in today’s society it is like it’s a “requirement” to go ahead a find a young man/ or woman because we want it and feel like we need it. As Christians we know that our God has that special someone in our lives already picked out, it is just the matter of waiting for the right time to meet that person. Waiting can be very frustrating, but I promise you that it will be worth it. For example, In high school I never rushed into dating because I knew God had a man in store for me but there were times when I wanted to find a boy and start dating him just so I can experience being in a relationship at least once in my lifetime. Of course I never I did that, but the questions were starting to dart at Him. I kept asking Him why I haven’t encountered the right man yet. Like literally this how my prayer would go ⇒ “Dear Lord I know you have the right man picked out for me but why haven’t you introduced him to me yet? Or at least shove a boy at me so i can experience dating at least once. I know there are strong Christian males out in this world but why are they just too hard to find?…”

You see that was the problem. I kept searching instead of sitting back and letting the Lord do his work. It wasn’t until recently when God gave me an answer to part of multiple questions. He proved to me that there are strong Christian males in this world, and that I just haven’t encountered them yet. Now whether that specific man is the “one” is up to the Lord for telling me, but it did give me assurance that there is nothing wrong with waiting. In fact being patient with the Lord is the best thing that you could possibly do because the more you wait, the more the Lord will think you’re ready to begin your future with your spouse. So don’t rush into the dating scene. It is okay to wait for the time to come, and especially pray for your partner too. Even though you don’t know them just yet, doesn’t mean they aren’t praying for you too, and that right there is something special to look forward to.
